There's a specific moment we design toward with festive pieces: someone standing two feet away from you under string lights or a chandelier, phone camera out, flash on. That's a harder test than most fabric or embroidery has to pass. A print that looks rich in a studio shoot can go flat under that kind of lighting, and embroidery that looks fine from across a room can suddenly look thin up close. Festive 2026 was built with that specific moment in mind, not just the wider photo.

Our embroidery hours go up noticeably for this collection. A regular kurta set might carry light detailing along a neckline; a festive piece from this range gets denser thread work, placed at the spots that actually catch light — collars, sleeve edges, the border running along the hem. None of that is decorative for its own sake. It's there because those are the points people's eyes go to first at a function, and it's also the reason a festive piece takes longer to finish than almost anything else we make.

Fabric had to work harder too. Silk and heavier chanderi carry most of the weight in this collection because they're the only bases that hold a dense zari border without sagging by the third hour of an event. We did keep some lighter georgette in the mix, but mostly for daytime festive occasions — a Diwali morning at home, a puja — where you're not standing under evening lighting for hours at a stretch.

Kurta sets, sarees, and a handful of occasion wear pieces, all pulling from the same colour direction — deep maroons, emeralds, gold, mustard. These tones hold up under warm indoor lighting in a way pastels just don't, and they carry embellishment more naturally too. You'll also find bandhani and kalamkari motifs running through several pieces, techniques with real roots in Indian textile craft rather than prints designed to imitate them.
